Structure

There are two ways of completing the programme:

Independent study - distance learning

This is the most flexible option and enables those who are unable or choose not to attend a classroom-style course to complete the programme. Each part can be completed at times convenient to the learner and their practice. Learners require an in-house mentor whose primary task is to provide advice and encouragement, this would normally be a practice manager, senior receptionist or similar.

Learners use the same material as those attending a taught course but they also receive free registration and have their assignments assessed by our external assessor.  This is all included in the price of the distance learning material.

We provide guidelines for the learner and mentor which clearly explain all about the programme.  The mentor will also receive model answers to the activities.  In addition distance learners and their mentors can contact Radcliffe for advice and support.

Group study - organising a course

This is where educational institutes, independent training providers or primary care organisations purchase sets of material from us and run training sessions based around the material.  A set of material is required for each person who will be attending the course.  Learners benefit from working in groups with expert tutorials, and are stimulated by the company of their peers.

An organisers pack is provided on loan.  The pack contains organisational advice, tutor guidelines and a set of learners material.  In addition organisers have the support of Radcliffe who are always happy to provide advice.

Learners attending a formal course receive the same material as distance learners.  The practice-based assignment is assessed by the course organiser who is also responsible for collating the paperwork and issuing the certificates. The material is provided at a discount to course organisers.  If you would like further information on becoming a course organiser please email education@radcliffemed.com

Course organisers can also provide distance learning for receptionists who cannot attend any, or all, of the sessions provided locally, expanding the flexibility of the programme. This combines the benefits of in-house training and the support of locally-based workshops.

If you would like to know if there are any DRP courses due to be run in your area please email education@radcliffemed.com.
