Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of any child can be both complex and challenging, but identifying and meeting the needs of children in whom illness is fabricated or induced can be especially demanding.
This DVD and booklet has been commissioned by the Government to assist local use of the statutory guidance Safeguarding Children in Whom Illness is Fabricated or Induced (HM Government, 2008). It will help practitioners and managers to promote the best outcomes for children in cases where Fabricated or Induced Illness (FII) is suspected, work sensitively with parents and carers in the child’s best interest, and better exercise their professional judgement
It is intended to assist: • practitioners and multi-disciplinary and multi agency teams working with children and their carers, including health and education professionals, police officers and social workers • members of the children's workforce and adult services who come into contact with children and families, either in the statutory, voluntary or independent sectors • middle and senior managers within these areas wishing to understand their responsibilities regarding FII.
This pack includes an individual user licence and a copy of the book Fabricated or Induced Illness in a Child by a Carer. The price of £129.25 is inclusive of VAT (£110.00 + VAT)
